Salvatore Gulino
Violin maker
(1910 – 1972)
Salvatore Gulino was a pupil of Gesualdo Averna and moved to Agrigento from his birthplace in 1929. After completing military service in 1931, he became a pupil of Sgarbi in Rome, eventually rising to the position of foreman in the workshop. From 1941, he established himself independently in Pinerolo, Turin, while also collaborating with Arassich in Milan. He exhibited in Cremona in 1949. His work featured classical models, with a preference for Guadagnini and Guarneri, and he also engaged in extensive restoration and repair work.
