John Dickeson

Violin maker
(1723 – c. 1780)

John Dickeson was a dealer and retailer. He labelled and sold the work of Rawlings, among others, and seems to have collaborated with Rauche at some point. His trade work followed the usual London Stainer pattern, occasionally exhibiting a more Amatise aspect. The quality was decent, featuring golden brown varnish. He created his work in Cambridge in 1776.
