Edward Tubbs
Bow maker
(1843 – 1924)
Younger brother of celebrated British bow maker James Tubbs, Edward Tubbs also trained with his father William and began assisting him around 1850. He made bows for the next several decades and opened his own shop in London in 1872, but in 1879 he left for New York. From that time forward Tubbs seems to have given up bow making in favor of buying and selling instruments imported from Europe. He appears to have been quite successful, and died in 1924.
