Gasparo Piattellini was the father or brother of Luigi Piatellini (I). He created fine work based on the Gabrielli/Amati model, featuring a medium arch and excellent red-brown varnish. The edges were delicate and refined, with an emphatic fluted channel. The soundholes were somewhat weak, being widely spaced and upright. His cellos were particularly admirable.
