Felice Beretta
Violin maker
(fl. 1760 – 1790)
Felice Beretta was a pupil of Giuseppe Guadagnini. His modelling was flattish, and the workmanship was rather indifferent. The style was very much in line with Guadagnini, although the head appeared slightly clumsy. He often used poor quality wood, which was probably not well-seasoned, as evident distortions were present in some cases. The golden-yellow varnish was a little thin.
