Alexander Stocks Watt

Alexander Stocks Watt was an amateur violin maker and player. He was a pupil of Dr. George Dickson in 1875. His work included copies of Stradivari and later Guarneri. He completed 50 violins and a few violas, using fine materials and amber varnish that he prepared himself. He gained awards at several exhibitions and also made miniature copies of individual Stradivari instruments.
