Henri Wagner was a distinguished violinist. He established himself as a luthier in the rue de Rome, Paris, starting in 1914, and later relocated to rue de la Tour d'Auvergne. He received a silver medal at Brussels in 1910. Many experiments were conducted on the subject of varnish, with him being one of several who claimed to have discovered the 'secret of Stradivarius. ' From 1925, he worked in association with François Delprato, after which all instruments were signed 'Wagner and Delprato. '.
