James Radford Coggin

James Radford Coggin was an artist, sculptor, and musician originally from Salisbury, NC. He began making violins in 1968 in New York and worked full-time as a violin maker from the 1980s. Coggin specialized in viola making and was well respected for his violas, particularly those made on a Brescian model. He created a Stradivari violin model and completed a total of 15 violins and 74 violas, all of fine professional quality.
