Charles Jacquot apprenticed to Nicholas ainé in 1819 and later worked with Breton. He established himself independently in Nancy from 1823. In 1852, he married the daughter of C. F. Vuillaume and handed over his shop in Nancy to his son Pierre Charles Jacquot. He moved to Paris in 1853, initially at 34 rue des Vieux-Augustins, ...Read More then from 1857 at 48 rue de l'Echiquier, and shortly thereafter at no. 42 on the same street. Work from the Nancy period was generally of average Mirecourt quality, but in Paris, he developed a more sophisticated style, creating copies of classical Italian work in the Vuillaume style.
