Made in 1928 by Enrico Politi — son and pupil of Eugenio Politi, who worked alongside his brother Fernando before settling in Turin — this violin showcases his skilled hand as a maker, with clear direction and carefully executed craftsmanship throughout. It remains in excellent condition, with a beautiful one-piece back of attractively flamed maple, finished in a luscious brownish-red varnish that speaks to Politi's reputation as a prolific and accomplished maker. Coming to us from an active musician, the violin is noted for its strong, well-rounded voice.
