This adorable half-size violin was made by della Corte in Naples around 1860 and survives in exceptional condition, particularly remarkable given the scarcity of his work. Della Corte remains a compelling and distinctive figure among 19th-century Neapolitan makers, recognizable here by the characteristic break in the purfling beneath the button and by the warm golden-yellow varnish associated with his work.
Exceptionally well preserved and full of character, this is a rare opportunity to acquire an unusually interesting example of della Corte’s work, equally appealing as a collector’s instrument or for a talented young violinist.
