Unlabeled.
Branded to the upper and lower block, "Evasio Guerra Torino."
LOB: 35.6 cm
Guerra was initially trained as a violinist, but soon demonstrated a natural aptitude for making at a young age. He is widely recognized as a pupil of Carlo Oddone and Romano Marengo Rinaldi, both highly regarded figures in the Turin school.
Despite his evident skill, Guerra did not establish a long-lasting and stable independent workshop and often produced instruments for other makers, including his teachers, as well as leading figures such as Annibale Fagnola and Francesco Guadagnini. This context is key to understanding his work: his instruments reflect a high level of discipline and adaptability, shaped by the demanding standards of the ateliers for which he worked.
This violin clearly demonstrates Guerra’s accomplished hand, combining careful workmanship with the stylistic fluency expected within the Turin tradition.
