This violin bow is a fine example by one of the leading bow makers of the 19th century, Joseph Henry. The beautifully flamed pernambuco highlights the elegant head profile and precisely cut chamfers. The bow dates from what is widely considered Henry’s finest period, shortly after he established himself independently following his time in the Vuillaume workshop. Fitted with a later frog and a button from the same period, it offers a more accessible starting price while retaining the quality and character that make it an appealing choice for musicians.
