Inscribed to the upper block, "Sgarabotto P. Parma 1951." Inscribed to the inner rib, "Sgarabotto Pietro fece 1951." Inscribed to the lower block, "S. P. 1951." 

LOB: 42.0 cm

This viola, bearing the sobriquet, the “Viola del Tassello” is confidently made, with a bold, well-defined model and purposeful arching. A distinctive example that illustrates both the maker’s craftsmanship and his influence on the 20th century Parma school.
