Branded to the upper block and inside back, "W. Jaura. Wien." Inscribed to the inside back, "192."

This cello is sold by the heirs of Walter Brachtel (1950 - 2020), a German cellist and conductor. After studying cello with Walter Reichardt, János Starker, and Antonio Janigro, he pursued chamber music and conducting studies with Kurt Stiehler, Rudolf Hindemith, and Rudolf Kolisch. From 1975 to 2015, he was a cellist with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester (BRSO).
