This bow belonged to Swiss violinist Thomas Füri (1947 - 2017). He studied with his father Erich Füri and with Max Rostal at the Hochschule für Musik Bern, before completing his studies with Ivan Galamian at the Juilliard School in New York. Securing teaching positions at the academies in Winterthur and Zurich and at the Hochschule für Musik Basel, he achieved fame through leading the Camerata Bern from 1979 till 1993, creating a substantial recording catalogue for Deutsche Grammophon. In 1985 he joined I Salonisti, and appeared in the 1997 film Titanic.
