Labeled, "Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume à Paris Rue Croix des Petits Champs."

Bearing the maker's inventory number to the inside back, "2196" which would correspond to a violin made in c. 1856. This violin most likely left Vuillaume’s workshop in the white and was varnished at a slightly later date.
