This violin by Giuseppe Tarasconi is a clear and refined example of the maker’s work. Tarasconi’s instruments are easily recognisable for their rounded upper bouts, angular C-bouts, elongated, sweeping f-holes, and characterful scrolls. This particular example demonstrates his skill as a craftsman, with finely sourced wood and a scroll cut with precision and direction, featuring the deep undercutting typical of the Milanese school. In good overall condition and finished with an attractive, well-applied varnish, the violin stands as a particularly appealing example of Tarasconi’s distinctive style.
