LOB: 35.5 cm
A late eighteenth-century violin from the great Dutch master. The model is compact and orderly, with restrained arching and neatly proportioned f-holes set with precision. The light brown varnish, laid over a clear ground, has softened attractively with age and use. Cuypers’ violins are highly desired for their tonal clarity and understated refinement.
