Labeled, "Carolus Ferdinandus Landulphus fecit Mediolani in Via S. Margaritae anno 1758."
LOB: 35.3 cm
This Landolfi violin is built on a slightly more compact, narrow model than the example sold as lot 134 of this catalog. The f-holes are set upright and cut with a sharper, more angular character. The varnish is a strong red color of notable intensity, applied over a warm ground and showing natural wear that enhances its visual contrast.
