Clemens Hagen, Peter Greiner Cello
Clemens Hagen, cellist of the Hagen Quartet, introduces his 2007 Peter Greiner cello which will be in the June 2016 London Auction.
Having played one of only six cellos by Greiner, Hagen tells the story of how all four members of the quartet performed on Greiner instruments before being loaned the Paganini Quartet of Stradivaris from the Nippon Foundation.
Hagen describes the cello’s versatility and quality, speaking of its broad and warm sound which is equally suited to chamber music and concertos.
