A Fine D’Espine Violin, last sold by W. E. Hill & Sons over a century ago

A fine Italian violin ascribed to and probably by Alessandro D’Espine, Turin, c. 1828 is a featured highlight from our October 2013 March London Fine Sale.

Estimate: £20,000 – 30,000.

1911 the violin was sold with a Hill certificate identifying it as a genuine d’Espine with an original label. A reissue of this certificate accompanies the violin today.
