Notes:

". . .with the hand-written inscription 'non vernis par lui', and inscribed internally on the back 'This Chef-d'oevre Strad model violin (with table of wood selected by Vuillaume from an old Swiss Chalet) was purchased at the 'Vente après décès de M. J.B. Vuillaume, Luthier' in the Hotel Drouot, Paris. May 22nd 1880."
