ex-Leonidas Kavakos
Unstamped.
Round stick. The silver-mounted frog and button by Tourte but not original to the stick.
54.0 grams

This fine violin bow by François Xavier Tourte was previously owned by the distinguished violinist, Leonidas Kavakos. Its striking upright head, defined by bold chamfers and powerful lines, dates to approximately 1815–1820—a timeframe widely considered the most coveted era of the maker's career. While the silver and ebony frog and button were originally paired with a different stick, they are authentic Tourte works from the same period, coming together to form an exceptionally attractive players’ bow.
