Labeled, "Farotti Celeste da San Germano di Casale fece in Milano nell'anno 1910 Medaglia oro E... Milano 1906 ordinato J... Comondante cav. Alfredo Bossi...."
LOB: 70.3 cm
A fine and practical instrument from Celeste Farotti, one of the most accomplished Milanese makers working in the early twentieth century. Built to a 7/8 pattern, this cello is particularly well suited to players for whom a full-size instrument is physically prohibitive, offering the tonal seriousness of a great making tradition in a more accessible format. A characterful example from a maker whose work rewards close attention.
