Labeled, "Joseph et Antonius Gagliani filii Nicolai et Nepotes Januari F. Neap. 1770."

LOB: 35.4 cm

This fine violin, in excellent condition throughout, was formerly in the possession of Sylvia Wechsler of the Sacramento Philharmonic. Previous experts have associated this instrument with the work of Giuseppe and Antonio Gagliano but we attribute it slightly later, and recognize it as probably the work of Raffaele and Antonio Gagliano.
