Inscribed to the inside top and inside back, "'Albertius' Sesto Rocchi 1963." Branded twice to the inside top and twice to the inside back.

From the personal collection of Marlin Brinser, this violin shows Sesto Rocchi’s refined workmanship and reflects his training in the Leandro Bisiach workshop. A fine example from a maker whose reputation continues to grow among discerning players and collectors. Marlin Brinser was an important American dealer in mid-20th century Italian violins. He wrote an influential book on modern Italian violin makers, a copy of which is included with this lot.
