Tarisio presents one of the earliest known violins of Giuseppe Guarneri ‘del Gesù’ in the June 2012 London sale. Dating from c. 1725, the violin is well certified and represents only the second time the maker has appeared at auction in 10 years.


Labeled, “Joseph Guarnerius fecit Cremone anno 1725 *IHS.” Inscribed to the inside lower bass rib, “…1805…”. The varnish restored.
