“Energy and excitement are always at a fever pitch in the New York office in the days before an auction and this October was no exception. We were delighted to see so many new faces!

Three of the instruments in this sale sold to benefit a charitable cause and this always adds a special element to the auction. Violins by Tononi and Gofriller were sold to benefit the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and a bow by Benoît Rolland was sold with the proceeds going to Community MusicWorks in Providence, RI.

In total twenty-four new auction records were set including violins by Camilli, Tononi, John Lott and for a Milan Guadagnini. The record for a bow by a living maker was also set with the sale of the bow by Benoît Rolland.”
