Inside a Masterclass

One of the most rewarding parts of the work we do at Tarisio is connecting with the next generation of great string players.  Whether it is helping match an instrument or bow to someone starting their career, or offering support for creative projects through programs like the Young Artists Grants, working with these talented musicians is something we value tremendously.

A highlight from our 2015 events was the Michelangelo Quartet leading a weekend of masterclasses at Tarisio New York. For many musicians, the experience of a masterclass can leave a lifelong impression and offer a unique perspective into their playing.  We are delighted to make events like this accessible to young players and we are looking forward to many more in 2016!

We thank our friends, the members of The Michelangelo Quartet, for generously offering their time and wisdom and for helping us make this event possible.

Frans Helmerson and Nobuko Imai share their thoughts on the power of a masterclass and what it means to them in the video below.
