Top: one-piece of fine grain, widening from left to right
Ribs: of wood similar to back
Varnish: Golden-brown
Length of back: 36.1 cm
Upper bouts: 15.7 cm
Middle bouts: 10.6 cm
Lower bouts: 19.85 cm

Notes:
Constructed in 1692, this violin is seven millimeters longer than Stradivari's earlier instruments, indicating the possible Brescian influences of Gasparo da Salo and Giovanni Paolo Maggini."Expert X said the instrument was known to him prior to the examination. He valued at $500,000 to $1,200,000. Charles Beare informally valued the instrument at $1 - $1.3 million.... Crane does not believe it is Strad."
