Angelo Soliani

Violin maker
(1752 – c. 1811)

One of the few 18th-century Modena makers of note. Active from the 1770s. Workmanship shows a direct knowledge of Cremonese instruments and is reminiscent of G. B. Guadagnini. Used an internal brand with a 'shining sun' motif.
