Giovanni Battista Tononi

Violin maker
(fl. 1740 – 1740)

No trace of this maker has so far been found in archival records, but the label of a cello in the Smithsonian Institution appears to be original. He was possibly a descendant of the Bologna family but with a very limited output, or perhaps other instruments with this label were relabled at a later date.
